The 600 000 ha Cuyabeno National Park is the only major Amazonian park in the world that can be reached over a paved road! Drive straight from capital Quito to our motorized canoes within the borders of the park over a paved road . Or even better, fly from Quito to Lagoagrio, where we pick you up on the airport and ride you comfortably into the Amazon Jungle, where our motorized canoes, operated by Siona Indians are waiting for you.!
The Cuyabeno Lodge is the oldest lodge within the Cuyabeno national park, operated by international conservationists who helped create and protect the park. The lodge is located on the most beautiful location on a peninsula on the Great Cuyabeno Lake. Created and owned by Neotropic Turis in 1989, it was the first ecotourism lodge in a national park in Ecuador. The 600 000 ha ( 1 500 000 acres) Cuyabeno National Park is the best wildlife viewing reserve on the mainland of Ecuador and the Cuyabeno Lodge now has a canopy viewing wildlife observation tower.
